12 September 2016, 14:25

UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET (UCM) will be held on September 20-21, simultaneously with the events and conferences for media professionals in the course of the 6th edition of KYIV MEDIA WEEK media forum. During these days, UCM will gather buyers and sellers of audiovisual content from the CIS countries, Baltic States, Central and Eastern Europe and other regions of the world under the roof of Hyatt Regency Kyiv.

Every region of the world has its own local content market, because one can not conclude all issues during the largest one – MIP Markets in Cannes (which, by the way, is a Partner of KMW), because it is too global. Thus, such local markets are: NATPE Budapest for Central Europe, DISCOP for Africa. And for the CIS countries, Baltic states and other territories close-knit historically by mentality, culture and solid business relations – UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET.

For 5 years of its existence, UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET was attended by over two thousand participants from 25+ countries, including more than 150 sellers of audiovisual content and more than 200 buyers from different regions of the world, including China.

This year, on September 20-21, UCM will gather such companies-sellers: All3media International (UK), Daro Film Distribution (Monaco), Eccho Rights (Sweden), Endemol Shine Group (UK), FILM.UA Distribution (Ukraine), FremantleMedia (UK), Global Agency (Turkey), ITV Studios Global Entertainment (UK), MarVista Entertainment (USA), MondoTV (Italy), Red Arrow International (Germany), Small World IFT (USA), Talpa Global (The Netherlands), Televisa Internacional (Mexico/USA), TRX (UK), Zodiak Rights (UK), Voice of America / Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty (USA), IGMAR (Russia), Intra Communications (USA), Funtik Entertainment (Russia). Among the buyers there are representatives of key TV channels, media groups and prodcos from Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Slovakia and Estonia.

Also, this year for the first time UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET will host a joint Korean stand under the umbrella of Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), which will represent six production companies and distributors of all kinds of content (shows, TV series, animation, etc.).

Deniz Tüzün, Sales Director (Russia & CIS), Global Agency (Turkey): “As Global Agency, we are always thrilled to be a part of the UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET. Attending to this market is a great opportunity to launch our new line-up for Ukraine, Russia and all CIS countries prior to other markets. We are bringing a strong line-up of formats and drama series which we believe all have potential to be the most watched and in demand projects across the region. Especially, The Legend as our latest hit singing talent show and High Society as the new popular drama series will be two of the most-talked about projects of the market, we think. We look forward to attend the market”.

Natalie Bushaeva, Sales Executive, Central & Eastern Europe, Endemol Shine Group (UK): “Endemol Shine Group will be presenting a tailor made, dynamic range of scripted and non-scripted formats for acquisition and production, specifically for KMW ’16. We’re thrilled to attend and we’re looking forward to update prospective buyers on exciting format developments since we last met, as well as providing a sneak preview into our Mipcom 2016 lineup”.

Brianne Bonney, Senior Sales Manager, Red Arrow International (Germany): “Red Arrow International is putting a fresh new focus on the CIS region, and so in addition to all of our current hit titles, we will also be using Kyiv Media Week to give CIS attendees an advanced peek at what new titles are just around the corner. We’ll be bringing exciting new entertainment formats, and an early look at our new dramas”.

Samantha Ferguson, Sales Executive, Zodiak Rights (UK): “Zodiak Rights is excited to meet existing and new clients with our brand new and proven formats at KMW!”.

Igor Storchak, CEO FILM.UA Distribution (Ukraine): “More than 30 projects are in production at FILM.UA today, and they can meet almost any customer. These are: feature film The Stronghold and feature animation The Stolen Princess – their quality has been proven on the international markets such as European Film Market in Berlin and Marché du Film in Cannes, they are our headliners for the upcoming year. We’ve got new series as well – shooting of the third season of The Sniffer and two more seasons of Doctor on Call started in August; Contact (detective) and Finding Hope (drama) series projects also have a great international distributional prospect. Just yesterday we finished shooting of our adaptation of the popular New Zealand format Step Dan; touching drama The Red Bracelets (adaptation of the Catalan format) will premiere soon. In addition, over the past two years FILM.UA Group produced more than 100 hours of digital content, including lifestyle blogs, cooking videos, advertising, educational content, augmented reality projects. We incorporated it all into a special Digital catalogue and will present it for the first time at KYIV MEDIA WEEK”.

International distributors, whose catalogues also include the formats, will present their freshest titles to KMW audience one day prior to the market – on September 19th. Traditionally, the forum will be opened by Format Show conference and screening, its program will include over 50 format premieres from leading rights holders from around the world.

UKRAINIAN CONTENT MARKET is a unique combination of convenient location, exemplary market organization, great season and attractive participation fee. It’s a great opportunity to attend a range of international B2B conferences and networking events in a beautiful setting of autumn Kyiv as well.
