27 October 2015, 15:25

Boat Meeting, an international co-production market of film projects, will be held on October 30 in art hotel Bakkara (Kyiv, Ukraine) in the course of International Film Festival Molodist.

International film festivals have long been not only the important events of the cultural life of cities and countries, but also the largest business platforms for professionals, thanks to which the world cinema is developing. The growth of industry is equally dependent on both the creators, cinematographers, and businessmen - producers. Dialogue and building relationships between art and business is the main goal of the business program, which is an important and integral part of the international film festival.

In 2015 the organizing committee of the Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist and the team of media consulting company Media Resources Management (KYIV MEDIA WEEK organizers) are jointly arranging the Boat Meeting - market of film projects. This platform gives the filmmakers the opportunity to present their full-length feature debut projects and second films to the professional audience. Since the founding of Boat Meeting (2009) many Ukrainian and foreign filmmakers have attended the pitching, among them is Miroslav Slaboshpytsky with his project "The Tribe", which later brought the author international fame. In 2015 a prize for the pitching winner is provided - a certificate for film production services from FILM.UA Group in the amount equivalent to 10 000 Euro.

Over the past two months the Boat Meeting team received 22 applications from 14 countries. The selection committee has chosen eight projects, which will be presented to the international jury on pitching on October 30:

1. This Film is about Me (Spain, Germany)

2. Man of the House (Albania)

3. White Dragon (Turkey)

4. Pamfir (Ukraine)

5. Prince Mamma's Boy (Czech Republic)

6. Hot Sticks (Georgia, Estonia, Iceland)

7. Price of Freedom (Ukraine)

8. The Empty House (Georgia)

The winner will be chosen by the experts with many years of experience in film industry: Virginie Devesa, co-founder of an independent distribution company Alpha Violet, dealing with international sales of the film "The Tribe" by Miroslav Slaboshpytsky; Merja Hannele Ritola, a Finnish producer, having 15 years of experience in the production of feature films and documentaries; Vladimir Issat, a leading producer of series division of FILM.UA Group, whose achievements list includes such movies and TV series like "The Trap", "The Road to Nowhere", "Light o'Love", "Dr. Baby Dust", "The Neighbours" and many others.
