KIEV CoProduction Meetings 2016 Announces Call for Entries

Co-production in film and TV industry is becoming an increasingly important tool in today’s rapidly changing conditions of international media business. This matter is significant for Central and Eastern Europe, including Ukraine and CIS region due to market realities, both on the local and global levels.

KIEV CoProduction Meetings, international platform for television co-production launched in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK, announces call for entries. The fourth edition of KIEV CoProduction Meetings will be held on September 20, 2016. This platform is the unique content marketplace in the CIS region designed for pitching and promotion of TV projects that look for co-producers, as well as providing producers with opportunity to be engaged in production of international TV projects.

Over the past three years producers from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, UK, USA, Brazil, Republic of South Africa, Kenya, Singapore, Malaysia have submitted their projects to KIEV CoProduction Meetings. The event’s catalogue gathered 86 titles of different genres, 24 of which were presented to the experts and the audience during the pitching sessions, that became an essential part of the event each year. The pitching is judged by the panel of experts featuring international TV and film professionals like Axel Arno (SVT, Sweden), Nicola Söderlund (Sparks Eccho Group, Sweden), Frederic Pittoors d'Haveskercke (Baradal, France) and others.

Documentary project Postcards from Ukraine by German company Mimesi'S Culture, which was completed and presented to the professional audience at the festival Hot Docs in Toronto; the project of feature film Tank by Ukrainian company Noosphere Films, which became the winner of the pitching in the course of the Berlinale Co-Production Market; the animation project Mavka. Forest Song, presented this year at Marché du Film in Cannes by Ukrainian FILM.UA Group; the mini-series The Price of Freedom by Ukrainian company Good Morning Film, presented in Warsaw at CentEast Market projects market –  all these and many other remarkable projects have been presented at KIEV CoProduction Meetings recent years.

Producers, who apply the projects, are given the opportunity to hold private meetings with the representatives of the largest Ukrainian broadcasters and independent film studios and prodcos, including STB, TRK Ukraine, 1+1, Friends Production, Studio Kvartal 95, FILM.UA, Star Media and others.

To participate in KIEV CoProduction Meetings producers, production companies, associations and unions of TV and film industry professionals have to confirm their intentions:

  • To present TV project(s) intended for co-production (some of the projects will be selected for pitching). Applicants may register and submit their projects at KMW website. Projects submission deadline is July 29, 2016;

or

  • To find TV project(s) for co-production – participants are invited to register at KMW website and provide the short information (under 200 signs) on the kind of project they are interested in by July 29, 2016.

The program of KIEV CoProduction Meetings will consist of two parts:

Part 1 – Panel Discussion – speakers and experts in the field of international co-production will share their experience and opinions on co-production prospects in the region. Case study presentation.

Part 2 – Pitching of TV Projects. Each pre-selected project is given 15 minutes for presentation.

Moreover, KIEV CoProduction Meetings participants are offered discounted rates for attending Ukrainian Content Market (September 20-21).

KIEV CoProduction Meetings will take place on September 20, in the course of KYIV MEDIA WEEK 2016 in Hyatt Regency Kyiv (5 Alla Tarasova St., Kyiv, Ukraine).
